Senior Vice President
Melissa Winkler is the Senior Vice President for Sales at Kestrel ESG, responsible for facilitating marketplace interaction and adoption of Kestrel ESG Data for fixed income. Ms. Winkler brings over 18 years of financial services experience and multiparty deal structuring capabilities. Spending over a decade of her career in public finance with top ten and regional firms, Ms. Winkler has worked with government organizations and executives, large institutional buy-side investors, credit rating agencies and market regulators.
In past roles, Ms. Winkler led successful efforts in strategy and growth for expanding new markets. She has participated in the issuance of over $10 billion of municipal securities across several sectors throughout her career. Ms. Winkler had the privilege to contribute to innovative financing products including the first issuance of a Build America Bond for the University of Minnesota, and the first publicly offered Environmental Impact Bond for the City of Atlanta.
As part of the Kestrel ESG leadership team, Ms. Winkler provides subject matter expertise, executes strategic growth opportunities, and leads client delivery. Ms. Winkler believes ESG will become the default approach to how capital is deployed. She understands the unique public sector landscape, fixed income products, and the opportunity for Kestrel ESG Data to catalyze ESG integration and outcomes in the fixed income marketplace.
Early in her career, Ms. Winkler worked as an Investment Management Associate for a large regional bank where she placed market trades and deployed asset allocation strategies for client portfolios. She was also a river raft guide in Colorado where she currently resides with her family. Ms. Winkler maintains Series 7, Series 63, and Series 53 licenses.
